Which light?

OK guys, I have received good advice on a lot of topics here so lets do it again.

I bought three very expensive lights. All three are bad.....the batteries go down even when just sitting unused! The manufacturer can't find a problem. Yes, I use good batteries (Surefire and Duracell) My cheap lights use the same batteries with no problems but they seem flimsy. I understand that Surefire is great but sooooooo expensive.

Where is a good deal on dependable lights for general use? I have a stockpile of CR123A batteries on hand so the new lights must use that size. I don't need a 1200 lumen beacon just 80-200.

Suggestions? :ponder: :ponder: :ponder:

Even though you say you want CR123s, I'm gonna say go AA rechargeable if you want awesome standby time and long term affordability. Very few reasons anymore why the average person (non flashlight hobbyist) should be using anything other than AA batteries for a daily carry light, the Sanyo Eneloops have made the alkaline AA battery obsolete IMHO.

Tons of single AA lights that are good quality and more than enough lumens for you, or something like this if you want a larger size or longer run time.

I just picked up a jetbeam pc10 that I am really liking, it only takes a single 123 cell.

I've been rocking a foursevens Quark Tactical for the past year and love it. 230 lumens, rock solid build quality and only cost me $60.

You could go by their office and pick it up and save on shipping. David, the owner, is at ces right now but is a super nice guy and a total motorhead. Between his supercharged m3 and BAC mono he has some pretty nice toys haha.

I considered that but Dvor had them on sale for $43.00 each and no sales tax. Not the current generation but good enough.

Surefire flashlights are really expencive. that's why I have run the light mady by Armytek. They make outstanding products and have a great reputation. Customer service is good. Two months ago I purchased Armytek Predator 670 lumens and happy that this light met all my needs. Variety of modes attracts me because I can choose any mode I need (for home, walking, my car). It's multifunctional light.

Well excuse me for welcoming someone from a country that we don't typically see around here :p

On topic - I bought a Fenix PD32 (http://www.amazon.com/Fenix-PD32-Compac ... B0062PVSGW" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) a while back. It different brightness settings & SOS flash. I typically use low or med setting on the light and I have not had to change the battery yet (had it about a year).
I also keep this one in the truck http://www.amazon.com/Dorcy-41-4297-Fla ... B000NGYO6M" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - had it for even longer, so far no issues with it either. Plus, it runs on AAA batteries which are cheaper, and easier to find, than 123s.
