Re: Lehigh cc 45 gr
I have tested a fixed bolt 5.7 system a few times and pressures are nuts without the normal shoulder movement. While Savage created a bolt action that worked they had had to flute the chamber, like a CETME rifle does. That allowed case expansion to deal with the pressure in a locked bolt system. The...

Yes this is an issue and it's hard to find now older Trim Pro 2's that use the plate system.

I have Lyman 2 die set that has the de cap and resize as the same die.
Hence the picture right from their website
If you are having issue with the mouth being to small, than why you relying on the de capper only and not using the second die>

In parlance it's referred to as a "Ball"
The knurled section is just there to aid in changing the de capper pin. It's NOT for resizing.

Welcome to the forum.
CH4D are the best, get the separate crimping die.
Hornady is second best, they don't make a crimp die, so get the CH4D crimp die.
CH4D and Hornady shell holders work perfect.
Honestly after that, all other 5.7 dies from them suck.

Re: Case mouth too narrow after resizing? Trim pilot too large?
For resizing CH4D is the best with Hornady coming in second.
You can also with CH4D you can order a custom sizer ball, but to the best of my memory I haven't seen an issue with the CH4D sizer ball.
All my Lyman for the 5.7x28mm was thrown into the scrap pile a long time ago.

Yes they use different mags. FNH for the MK3 MRD changed the mag well lip and changed the magazine base plate. There are three type of FsN Magazines, DOA to Gen4 USG used the same magazine. It's feed lips where prone to breaking so FNH added a full rib running up the front of the magazine. About hal...

Crimping with the seating die never works. Even on my RCBS dies on my other rifle cartridges I always crimp as a stand alone action. Doing both with the 5.7 is doomed. The best dies are made by CH4D, Hornady is the second best. They have a stand alone crimp die, I suggest you get one. https://www.ch...

Re: American Eagle brass as good as FNH?
All of the AE brass is FNH brass.
1) how did you process the brass?
2) I suspect the issue is your re sizer adjustment. You might have the re sizer adjust to far down and you are creating a shoulder bump. Hornady dies have zero issues.

Yeah watch my video. You do not want to tumble the brass.
Luke warm water 1 part simple green to 5 parts water. Bucket hand agitate every 5 minutes at the 20 min mark rinse in luke arm water and let air dry. Do not dry in the oven or with heat since it will heat cycle the coating.

RCBS and Lee dies SUCK for the 5.7x28mm. In fact the worst does you can buy for the 5.7 are the RCBS. Your best option 1) CH4D and get the third separate crimp dies 2) Hornady 2 die set combined with the separate CH4D crimp die. How did you clean your brass? Red tips are just Hornady V-max and they have a very jacket and soft core. So pulling them ruins the bullet most times. In the past we have sold pulled SS197 bullets but again they were pulled with our system that didn't destroy them .

OK so you have no clue who I am. So to not rely on a stated argument to authority logical fallacy. I am Pr/CEO of Elite Ammunition. I started manufacturing 5.7 and inventing now bullets for it over 20 years ago. I hold multiple patens for 5.7 projectiles and have manufactured over 20 millions rounds...

Re: Subsonic reloading for Bolt Action
The chamber is not fluted, the spent cases are pristine. I plan on trying very low pressure loads I will probably start with Trail Boss just to see stability and velocity, I would guess slower shotgun powders could be used. As for the locking lugs there pretty tiny, idk how to post photos on here b...

Re: Subsonic reloading for Bolt Action
Welcome to the forum. You're in new territory with that gun. Yes it's a bolt gun and often with bolt guns for match loads you just neck size. Not sure this rifle and here is why. When you fire the 5.7 from a locked breach you run extremely hi pressures. The 5.7 was designed around a blowback action....

Depends, do you want to shoot through them or have then survive?
20 feet is was I use if there is a chance that the 5.7 won't shoot through it.

A lot of the published data is not really that good and most of it never actually fired out of a fire arm. Those magazine articles, some of them over 15 years old, just don't work very well. Much of the data was software created. Hance the deep, fully vetted load data here on the forum. All load dat...

Price point, well yes it's cheap and that has me concerned , yet there are some damn good guns that come out of Turkey.

Re: 27 grain bullets and where do I find them?
FNH does not sell that bullet retail or wholesale. This is why I/EA use SS195 and SS198 as the source for the 27gr bullet used in the EA S4. The FNH design is protected. I did design an improved version. The cost to manufacture that bullet though is on par with me T6B bullet and would never perform ...

I have a Ruger 57. It is reliable and works well. No complaints. I only see one guy constantly publicly denigrating this weapon. I think he sells ammo or something. I haven't found any merit in his criticisms. Also I approved your post, welcome to the forum and good that you haven't had any issues....

You might have used to much lube. 5.7 likes the lighter sizing lubes like one shot
Also polish the inside of your sizer body.

Well for one thing you would load 5.7 the same no matter what platform. Do you have any pics? The Lee dies are shit FOR the 5.7 are shit, it could be the sizer, the seater or their horrid crimp die. Re: Reloading equipment for 5.7x28mm
Also , Lee did change their reloading dies and honesty they suck. I suspect you might have bumped the case to much and bulged the shoulder out. CH4D makes the best dies including crimp die. Hornady make a really nice 2 dies set. The Lee dies though for the 5.7 just don't work well and their crimp di...

Re: Straightening jammed ammo with bent case necks
I've had them jam & the bullet would get "bent" on occasion; I'd just put them off to the side for pull down later. IMO though, if the case neck itself is bent, it isn't worth trying to straighten. Just pull it down with the hammer & use the bullet in a new round, toss the brass into your recycling...

Re: Brand new PS90 Malfunction
I would start with trying some quality 5.7 ammunition. That ammo under powered and can give PS90's feeding issues. 1) Make sure to clean you chamber with carb cleaner, NO OTHER type of solvent or gun scrubber will work, well acetone will, but no other gun cleaners. 2) Make sure you don't have a piec...
