FIOCCHI 5.7X28 150 ROUND BOX

Post by Unforgiving1 » 01 Jun 2023, 17:43

Just had a couple of these boxes arrive in good shape. Haven't found any reviews to look over before I made the purchase so I took a chance. I've always had good luck with Fiocchi ammo until now
I loaded 8 rounds into a brand new 5.7 PSA ROCK clip by hand and hand cycled 2 of the 8 rounds for inspection when I noticed a bullet head hit the ground. Upon looking everything over, the 6th round still in the double stack clip with two rounds above it and was the one missing the projectile ...
Has anyone heard any news about this?
I'm not even sure if I should try to fire any of the ammo at this time.
Much obliged for any help and be safe and alert about this issue! 👍

With the American Eagle ammo, made by Fiocchi, all the time. Also welcome to the forum.

I've shot probably 500 Federal American Eagle and 500 FN 57 FMJ with zero issues. (Ruger 57). I just purchased my first Fiocci 57x28 but haven't shot any. Hoping for reliable range ammo

All US 5.7 ammo with FN headstamp is loaded by Fiocchi. Gold Dot, Fiocchi Hyperformance, Range Dynamics, SS197SR, American Eagle. Fiocchi says they redesigned the bullet to better feed, but it really needs a collet crimp I reviewed it here

I have fired two boxes of Fiocchi rounds described above through my $&W MP57. I was impressed with how clean the holes in the target were at 10 & 25 yds. I am waiting for another sale from Palmetto State Armory to buy more.

I noticed you didn't try shooting a suppressor on the Smith and Wesson. I did try one on mine and it did not work out very well. Bullets keyholed their way through the target at 10 yds.
Smith and Wesson is "working on the problem" but so far they haven't come up with a solution. Threading the barrel shroud instead of the barrel seems to be the issue.

threading the barrel with their gas system won't work as it currently designed . The issue is more with how deep the threads go into your device and less how well it's centered on the barrel via the shroud.
