Viability of 5.7x28 Cartridge

Post by thataintworking » 30 Jun 2020, 17:32

I have recently purchased CMMG Banshee in 5.7x28. I LOVE the gun and the cartridge, but I'm worried that I have made a mistake, that I should have chosen a different caliber because the ammo seems to really scarce. I know I can reload but before I invest any more, I'm just wondering what the general opinion is on the 5.7 long-term. Why is there such a shortage of this caliber right now? Are more manufacturers going to start making 5.7 ammo?

Shortage of ammo is a sign of the times. It’s almost every caliber. I reload
And it’s tough getting 40 grain .224 bullets

I am new here and new to 5.7x28, seeing this thread from 3 years ago just made me question my decision to purchase a 3.5 gen AR57 upper.
