One is dead on. One is high and left.

Hello,

I am new to this cartridge and this pistol. I apologize if this question has been answered, but I could not find the thread.

I went to the range today with two types of ammunition:

FNH USA 5.7x28mm 27 Grain HP
SKU: SS198LF-BOX

Federal American Eagle 5.7x28mm 40 Grain FMJ (Case)
SKU: AE5728A-CASE

My sites were dead on for the American Eagle but the SS198 was shooting high and left at 11 yards.

I know it is a much hotter round. Is it known in this community that the gun needs to be zeroed for one round or the other but there is no zero for both of them?

One would be my target ammo and one would be my carry ammo.

Thank you,
Jared

Yes, this platform is ammo specific, sight for your carry ammo, work on your grouping with the rest.
How far off is it hitting? It shouldn't be so much as you would miss the bad guy in a defensive situation.

I'm guessing your 198s will be your carry ammo - sight for those. As long as your grouping is tight with the AE's, it doesn't really matter where they hit on the target.

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.
