Magazine storage

Post by Rapier1772 » 04 Mar 2019, 17:20

Anyone have a good idea for storing magazines? Right now, most of mine are in boxes all mixed this way & that, I'd like to organize it. They make plenty of storage stuff for the AR mags but not so much for pistol mags. One idea was to store the mags in the ammo box of that caliber but that just wastes space you could get more ammo in :D

Was thinking a small rack with shelves for the different guns/calibers, or magnets/magnetic strips, there's a mag hanger thing on Amazon, and so on...

Just wondering if someone here has good idea or a tweak of another idea I haven't thought of yet?

Thanks

You mean something like this :) ? They work particularly good if you also have the same sized cheap plastic ammo cans that go on sale for like $5 every so often. That way you can stack everything nicely.

That's pretty close to what I was talking about except ammo cans are made for ammo :D Not to mention, in that setup at least, there's a lot of wasted space. I have an idea that I like but no one makes it (that I've found); I would have to build it and I'm not sure how to feasibly do that.

I just had another idea that is simple, not very pretty but easy - (kinda like me :p )

Just found out that the FsN mags & PS90 mags also fit in the PMAG wall mounts

Wish I had known that before I built this other thing.

On another note: anyone with a table saw or 3D printer can probably make racks to hold a lot more.

These wire type hangers also work for FsN and PS90 mags.
They hold 4 mags per rack for both.

Here's what I made for my plastic mags; they're kind of like racks for stemware.

Interesting note, the racks for the FsN mags also fit the PS90 mags, glad I made 2. The slider things are because I was going to mount them lower; I moved them up (cuz longer mags) when I fingered out the PS90 mag thing, now sliders aren't necessary but they don't hurt anything.

The white block rack is for the .40 (don't have as many mags for that one).
